On the Surface of Diane

Hi, I am Diane, or as my friends call me, Da Da or Da-Eun. I guess I am also the cunctor.
*cunctor is latin for somebody that is slow to act; to dawdle; to delay, to impede, to hold up; to doubt; to hesitate, to tarry, to linger.

I am a rising senior at Duke University majoring in Neuroscience and Computer Science. I've been a rising senior for a while now since I've been on a fairly long leave -- being an exchange student at SNU, Korea, working at a psychiatry lab in Boston, and working at a startup I co-found. I plan to return to school when the COVID situation gets better in the US.

Working as a Research Trainee in a Psychiatry Neuroimaging Lab, affiliated with Massachusetts General Brigham and Harvard Medical School,  I developed methods to look at brains. More specifically, I studied and tested neuroimage analysis methods for patients with schizophrenia and depression in an effort to reveal biomarkers for such psychiatric disorders. It was a lot of bash scripts and python.

The startup I co-found, Fireflies (www.fireflies.app), is a platform that seeks to reimagine the donation culture amongst millennials. I serve as the CPO and am in charge of the Design, UIUX, and the Marketing departments within the company.

This site is mainly to have my web projects in one place. These web projects include graphic and UI/UX projects from the first year of my college.

I dabble in oil painting. Although I wouldn't say it is a hobby, since Art I think is an act of constantly breaking one's establishment of the world and that pains me. Since it doesn't align with most of my efforts in life that yearn to be constructive, I don't particularly enjoy painting. Rather, I end up painting sometimes to save myself. I have a separate website for my artwork that is hidden as I come from a loving, c
onservative family where doing such art has been worried upon. If you would like to see, please message me personally for the link.
